Arthur C. Scott, DMD

President

Arthur Bio

Dr Arthur C. “Art” Scott (Colonel [Ret], US Army) is a 1983 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and served over 34 years in the US Army Dental Corps before retiring from active duty in 2017. He is dual board-certified in the specialty of Comprehensive Dentistry by the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry. He holds Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry and was awarded Fellowship in both the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Art has served on integral national committees in both the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association. Nearly 25 years of his Army Dentistry career were served in critical command and staff assignments including. Art currently volunteers as a Board Member on the Association of Army Dentistry and formerly served as Executive Director for the Association. He initially served on the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic Board of Directors from 2005-2008 and was privileged to provide the initial design for the current Clinic site located at Haven for Hope. Art returned to the Clinic Board of Directors after retirement and currently serves as President of the Board of Directors.

Sharon LePere has been a Major Accounts Executive at KENS 5 for over seven years. In 2017, she received a Rising Star award and earned a place in TEGNA’s President’s Circle for her outstanding sales performance in 2023. Before her tenure at KENS, Sharon worked with radio and TV stations in Chicago and San Francisco and spent 20 years in the music business. Committed to giving back, she proudly serves as a board member of the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic, an organization co-founded by her mother.

Selena Jones

Selena Bio

Selena Jones spent many years in bookkeeping and business office management when she returned to school to get her Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in accounting. After graduating with honors, Selena began her audit career in San Antonio at Armstrong, Vaughan & Associates, PC from 2007 to 2012 specializing in governments and nonprofits. In 2012, she moved to London and worked in roles as an accounting consultant and assistant finance director for nonprofits. After spending two years as the Finance Director of St. Michael’s Catholic College, in 2017, she returned to San Antonio as Audit Manager for Armstrong, Vaughan & Associates. She later joined Schriver, Carmona & Company as Senior Audit Manager and then served as CFO for Braination, Inc. a Texas Charter School District. Selena is currently the Senior Audit Manager at ABIP, PC.

Lisa Ayres

Lisa Bio

Lisa Ayres has been a development professional for over 20 years. She has worked in public media and for nationwide health organizations. Lisa has received three Best in the Nation awards for her events and was the staff of the year twice for the American Cancer Society. She has a degree in Public Relations from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Nonprofit Management Certification from Our Lady of the Lake University. She has been a board member of San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic since 2020. She is active with the National Charity League Alamo Chapter.

Derrick Cantu, DDS

Derrick Bio

Denise Bruchmiller is a retired Licensed Professional Counselor, experienced in inpatient and private practice. Inspired by her husband’s many years of service on the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic Board, she is honored to now be serving in her second year. She brings 37 years of service and education to this community and state through leadership in the Alliance to the San Antonio District Dental Society and the Alliance to the Texas Dental Association. During an early tenure as President of the Alliance to San Antonio District Dental Society, Denise became introduced to the Clinic. She led the effort to donate two desperately needed dental chairs to the clinic when it was on First Baptist church’s property many years ago. She is a regular volunteer at the Clinic.

Benjamin Bio

Ben Young, DDS, MS (Lieutenant Colonel [Retired], US Air Force) graduated in 1980 from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. In 1981 he completed a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR). In 1988 he graduated from the University of Texas Health Science

Center San Antoni and Wilford Hall Medical Center with both a Master of Science Degree and

Certificate. He was the supervisor of the Air Force Periodontal Therapist Course for three years

and taught in an Advanced Education in Dentistry Program (AEGD) for five years. He has been

board-certified in his specialty for over twenty-five years. He is dental co-chair for the advisory

council of the San Antonio chapter of Christian Medical and Dental Associations and chair of the Peer Review Committee for San Antonio District Dental Society.

Diane I. Wilson, RDH, MEd

Diane Bio

Ms. Wilson has the pleasure of serving the Alamo Colleges District’s Palo Alto Campus as the Executive Director of Dental Hygiene. She has been instrumental in helping to build a state-of-the-art dental facility for the dental hygiene program that provides dental hygiene services to its community members. Through providing education to future dental hygienists, she has the opportunity to create a partnership through education. Instilling foundational value in others to give back is a key ingredient in developing the next professionals in dentistry that will impact the oral health and overall health of others. San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic is one of those key ingredients.

Selina Gutierrez, DDS, FICD

Selina Bio

Dr. Selina F. Gutierrez is the sole owner and dentist of Inwood Family Dental in San Antonio, Texas. She is serving her second term as the President of the Greater San Antonio Hispanic Dental Association. In 2022 and 2023, she was nominated by the Texas Academy of General Dentistry for the Texas New Dentist of the Year Award. In 2023, she was also named “10 Dentists to Watch” by the Academy of General Dentistry. Before serving on the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic Board of Directors, she was a volunteer for nine years as she transitioned from dental student to resident and now general dentist.
